I have a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and over 30 years’ experience working across a wide range of Early Years settings, both as a practitioner and as part of management teams.
Having worked directly within the sector for so many years, I understand first-hand the pressures that nursery managers and Early Years teams face, as well as just how important it is to have the right people in place. That experience allows me to take a genuinely consultative and empathetic approach to recruitment, ensuring that I understand both the needs of the setting and the individual candidate before making a match.
I’m incredibly passionate about raising standards within Early Years and supporting settings with high-quality, reliable staff. Safer recruitment and safeguarding are always a priority for me, and I take real pride in building trusted relationships with both clients and candidates. I also really enjoy getting to know candidates as people, understanding their experience, goals and what they’re looking for from their next role.
Outside of work, family is hugely important to me. I’m married to Mark and we’ve been together for over 25 years, and we have a son called Luke. Our household is also home to Chester the dog and Darth the snake, so there’s rarely a dull moment!
One of my biggest passions is getting outdoors and climbing mountains. I’ve climbed Ullock Pike, Skiddaw, Steel Knotts, Hallin Fell and Dove Crag, to name just a few, and I’m always happiest when I’m out exploring somewhere new.
I’m naturally very caring and giving, and I’ll always do what I can to support the people around me- something that definitely carries through into the way I work with candidates, nurseries and my team at Class People.
